Letter from Briá

Hi everyone,
At the age of twelve years old, I am fortunate to be growing up in a household with parents who love and support me. For as long as I can remember, my mom and dad have stressed the value of education to me. When I was much younger (not that I’m that old now), my dad use to play audiotapes of the alphabets, and colors, shapes, and counting while driving the family car.
My dad started me playing golf when I was three. Playing competitive junior golf has given me to opportunity to travel, and play at places like Doral in Miami, Florida, and visit Trump National in California. It is also because of golf that I began doing community service work. Starting in the third grade, I have done at least one volunteer project each year. Last year I did four – one in Atlanta, GA (provided a golf clinic for Project One Junior Golf Academy, two – in Houston, Texas (Honorary Chairperson for the Micah’s Children Foundation Golf Tournament, three – Memphis, TN (Boys and Girls Club Golf Tournament), and four – Memphis, TN Germantown Recreation Dept. REACH program (Provided golf lessons at three elementary schools). The Briá Sanders Foundation is an extension of that community service.
My goal when I grow up is to become an LPGA Tour Professional. If that does not work out, through education, I and other youth in the Bria' Sanders Foundation will be successful.
Sincerely,
Briá J. Sanders |
